Week in Review

Hey y’all! Thea here, back with another update on the Disco’s goings on!

We’re getting set up to debut a Zoom adapted one act play called “EZRA and Me,” written by new playwright Jim Keane (my dad!), and directed by me!

On Monday, a new series began on our Patreon page (https://www.patreon.com/invisiblediscoproductions), called “Why the Pod?”. If you’re interested in Writer’s Block Party, be sure to check out this new series, which will be going for the next few months with hosts, guests, and producers!

Tuesday was spent in EZRA rehearsals ranging from one-on-one to small groups with actors and IDP’s resident sound op, Amelia (see: https://www.invisiblediscoproductions.com/blog/week-in-reviewnbsp-85w8r)!

Wednesday saw the continuation of our Artists We Admire campaign on Instagram! This week’s artist spotlight was Sean Lew, a young dancer, choreographer, and YouTube personality! Additionally, we had our first EZRA run-through, which went swimmingly, and made me all the more excited for everyone to see it come December 18!

I spent most of Thursday editing my piece, “Mirror, Mirror,” for our Writer’s Collective, the second iteration of which is coming to a close next week! There will be a showcase of everyone’s work on December 20, 2020 at 4pm EST; if you would like to attend–no admission price–hit that Contact Us button and we’ll send you the Zoom link!

Friday, we released Episode 13 of Writer’s Block Party with unrivaled guest: PIPER DODDS LEWIS! Piper has been a core collaborator with IDP since the very first All Work, No Play Fest (check out her 10-minute play, “Oliver & Eloise,” as well as four fantastic others at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7QJLhpj5Gs), and we are so excited that we were finally able to get her on the pod! Piper and hosts Lauren and Amelia discussed a scene from her new play, “Memento Mori,” among other things that you’ll have to listen to the episode to find out about!! If you’re interested in getting access to the behind the scenes footage from this recording session, make sure to check out our Patreon at the $10/month level! There’s a bunch of fun antics we’re not able to put into each episode, so it’s well worth the investment!

Today, I’m laying low, preparing for a busy next week full of EZRA and Me deadlines and due dates! If you’re interested in attending the show (it’s going to be a great time, I guarantee it!), please visit https://www.facebook.com/events/183516106822448 to see who else is going, and https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ezra-and-me-tickets-131501375153 for free will donation tickets! We are, first and foremost, a company dedicated to the accessibility of art, so if you find you are unable to pay Eventbrite’s required $1.03, do not hesitate to reach out to us and request the Zoom link! Alternatively, if Friday isn’t a good day for you, the recording of the show will go up on our YouTube page https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCQtEkT3puHjSKezGGV6nMw the following week!

Tomorrow, Amelia is spearheading the All Work, No Play 3 Directors’ Commentary, so be on the lookout for that on our Patreon as well! The dress rehearsal for Writers’ Collective Showcase is also tomorrow, and, as always, if you’d like to be considered for the next round, let us know! We’re always looking to expand the family, and our Writer’s Collective has had huge success thus far!

All our best,

Thea and the Team
