Meet the Writers!

Hey everybody!

Well it’s official; All Work, No Play Take 2 is happening at 8pm EDT on Wednesday, October 21! We have 4 new playwrights for you, and without further ado, we’d love for you to meet them!

Bella Maxwell is an NYC based actor, writer and director who is currently a Senior at NYU Tisch getting her BFA in Drama. Through NYU she has studied at the Atlantic Studio in New York, where she played her most recent acting credit of Juliet, and at the Brecht and Stanislavski training program in Berlin. In the past she has worked as a stage manager for Theater for the New City’s Dream Up Festival and has directed “Trifles,” by Susan Glaspell for Santa Rosa ArtQuest Program’s One Act Festival. She is currently working as a production assistant for the zoom series “The Building: Under Lockdown,” with acclaimed broadway actors Robert Lupone, Kathryn Grody and Laura Esterman. She is thrilled to be having her writing debut with Invisible Disco Productions.

Deniz Bulat is a Turkish actor, director, writer, filmmaker based in New York City. She is pursuing her BFA in Drama at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she trained at Atlantic Theatre School and Stonestreet Studios, along with a BA in Politics. Her most recent acting credits include Stupid F**king Bird and Romeo and Juliet both in Atlantic Theater School; in the recent months she has been focusing on expanding her artistry into film. She is motivated by her interest in multimedia storytelling and international collaboration, as she works to explore the themes of home, familial dynamics, and time. She is an Associate Producer and an Artist for Et Alia Theater Company and the General Manager of Invisible Disco Productions, with whom she spent a good portion of this year collaborating.

Emma Quinlan Baxter is a senior at NYU studying dramatic writing with minors in comedy and Irish Studies. She writes scripts for the stage and screen as well as sketch and standup comedy. She is Co-President/Artistic Director of Broke People Play Festival at NYU, and has also written and directed short and full-length plays for the festival throughout her student career. In addition, she was part of the Paula Vogel Mentors Project, through which her work was produced by Found Theatre Co. in Philadelphia. She has also interned for Saturday Night Live, Big Beach, producer Jenna Segal, documentary researcher Sheila Mania, and Writers Theatre of New Jersey.

Miranda Kang is a NYC and LA based actor and writer who has studied at NYU Tisch Drama. During her time at NYU, she studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, performed in an improvisational comedy group, Pasadena Golf Club, and came in first place at the National College Improv Tournament. She is so excited to stage the first play she’s ever written with Invisible Disco Productions and is expecting that you-all will show up—unless you’re busy, of course—take care of whatever you need to and then come see her play. But of course, only if you have the free time. If not, she wishes you the best of luck with whatever it is that is APPARENTLY more important than the play she’s putting on, but WHATEVER, she’s not mad about it.

We love these new writers and the work they’re bringing to the table, and we are so excited for you all to join us!
