Hey there!

In this month’s installment of Patreon 101, we’re going to be talking about a benefits that every new patron, regardless of pledge level, receive upon becoming part of our community!

Once you sign up to become a Patron of Invisible Disco Productions (thanks for that, by the way!), you will receive a welcome message from us on the website, and an email from us as well. Now, the more money you pledge (up to $25/month), the more benefits you receive. Today, we’ll be doing a deep-dive on the two benefits every single new Patron receives: the WBP Shoutout, and the Writing-Prompt-Calendar!

The Writer’s Block Party Shoutout is fairly self explanatory; at the beginning of the episode that is released after you’ve signed on, we will say a huge thank you to each of our new patrons and shout you out by name!

The Writing-Prompt-Calendar is a bit more elusive, but we’re here to unpack it so you know exactly what you’re getting for your money. Every month you are a patron, we will send you 28 writing prompts for the month. In the welcome email, we encourage you to email us with your preferred medium (choice between: song, stage, screen, and poem), but if you have no preference, we’ll surprise you! Each week, you’ll receive 7 new prompts which you can use for various purposes. In the first songwriting prompt kit, for example, the prompts will build on each other and eventually help you to write the lyrics to a full song by the end of the month! The first week’s prompts will land in your inbox the first Thursday after you sign up! As such, the numbers on the calendar won’t necessarily line up with the date. We are still in the testing process of this style, so let us know if it’s not user-friendly!
