Week in Review

Hey everybody! It’s your girl Thea back with another IDP update for you.

My Monday and Tuesday were dedicated to finalizing my cast, and rehearsing for my short play, The Interview, in the All Work Festival: Take 4. I’m so excited to be working with old and new friends and collaborators, as well as my little brother, Elliot! The other three writers are Kayla Yumi Lewis, Gracie Rittenberg, and Esther Um, and next Monday, we’ll be sharing a “Meet the Writers” piece on the blog, so keep an eye out for that! You can find tickets for the festival at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/all-work-no-play-4-a-night-of-10-minute-plays-tickets-143832870989.

Wednesday saw the continuation of Art We Admire. This week’s featured work was “Blood,” a 2015 album by Lianne La Havas. Check it out at https://www.instagram.com/invisiblediscoproductions/!

Thursday, we set up our brand-new IndieGoGo fundraising campaign, asking for backers to support our upcoming film projects: Angel, by IDP general manager Deniz Bulat, and Dinosaur Day, by IDP Artistic Director Amelia Annen. You can find the details about the two films, as well as the perks you can receive upon contributing, at the following link: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/invisible-disco-production-film-fund/x/26058865?create_edit=true#/. Thank you in advance for checking it out, we so appreciate our community’s support and generosity, and we know you will love these two projects.

Friday, we aired Episode 16 of Writer’s Block Party, featuring the wonderful SAM CARBERY! Sam has been involved in several projects with the Disco, both directly and indirectly, and they are an amazing writer. We are lucky to have had the chance to speak with her, and we’re positive you’ll love the episode. Sam and hosts Thea and Amelia discussed Sam’s new work in progress, “Eyes in the Back of my Head,” and had a wild conversation that you don’t wanna miss! Head over to Spotify or Apple Podcasts to listen to the episode, and don’t forget to tell us what you think in a review on iTunes. We’re indebted to all listeners, but especially those who review, as reviews are the best way we have to promote our podcast beyond our own social media platforms and website. Thank you again. We love you all.

Today, we had our second Writer’s Collective meeting, and the works shared were truly inspiring. You can expect the first Writer’s Corner Takeover tomorrow, featuring one of our favorite writers: Emma Quinlan Baxter!

All our best,

Thea and the Team
