Month in Review
Hey everybody! How are you?
In the first week of June, we had our first meeting with the entire directorial team of Roadtrip and Rural, and we are so excited to be getting things moving quickly along! It’s Pride Month and both of these films feature a predominantly LGBTQ+ crew, from the producers, to the writers, to the directors, to the cast. We’re so excited to be working with a queer-and-women-led team yet again, and we hope you can find it in your hearts to support directly in the form of a donation (check out some of those perks, because there’s some great stuff!!) or indirectly by sharing with your friends, loved ones, and found family who you know would appreciate supporting this project and the Disco✨!
We started the second week with a the first few of many pre-production meetings for our summer film undertaking; details to follow on that, so keep your eyes peeled for more information about the chosen projects and how to support them!
In the third week, we had our final meeting with this iteration of our Writer’s Group, and while it was bittersweet, we were fortunate to part on a very collaborative note, with everyone participating in each others’ readings! And this final week, we prepared for our fifth All Work, No Play festival! This time around, we brought the show back to its roots, featuring plays by two of IDP’s company members, one by a beloved writer friend of the disco (directed by another company member), and one by a new addition to our last writer’s group who we have come to adore!
